Ochtendchaos en Kleine Wonderen - BabyEmpire

Morning Chaos and Little Miracles

My eyes are barely closed when I hear it: a soft murmur from the baby room. For a moment I hope he’s lulling himself back to sleep, but no – the murmur turns into a powerful morning concert within seconds. I sigh, turn over one more time and check the time. 5:43. Another early start. My husband stirs next to me, mumbles something unintelligible and turns over again – as always, completely unhindered by the baby alarm. Okay then, time to get up.

When I enter the room, I am greeted by two shining eyes and a toothless smile. Completely innocent, as if he is not the one who has torn me from my precious sleep. "Good morning, little rascal," I whisper, as I lift him from his crib. His arms fly enthusiastically into the air, ready for a new day. My head is heavy, my body still feels half asleep, but somehow that smile makes everything melt.

I drag myself downstairs with my baby in my arms, half asleep but functioning on autopilot. Coffee. Coffee is priority number one. But my baby has a different agenda and enthusiastically grabs my pajamas while babbling happily to me. As the coffee simmers, I place him in the bouncer. Ten seconds later he is protesting loudly as if I have abandoned him forever. So there I am, pouring my coffee with one hand while trying to stick a pacifier in his mouth with the other. Multi-tasking level parenting.

I plop down on the couch with him. His little hands find their way to my face and he giggles when I tickle his feet. The tiredness remains, but at that moment I don’t care. Because waking up with a baby doesn’t just mean sleepless nights and early mornings – it also means love in its purest form, every single day.

And honestly? A few nice baby essentials make those mornings just a little bit easier. Luckily, I can always find them at BabyEmpire – where they understand what parents really need.
